Encoder Photo IC

Photo IC for Optical Encoder

A new encoder photo IC with a built-in multiplier circuit (photo IC for optical encoders), built on a 0.25μm BiCMOS process.

By integrating the photodetector, amplifier circuit and multiplier circuit on a single chip, we achieved a compact size and low power consumption.

Features

  • The same IC supports any base resolution within the upper and lower base resolution limits (EC1 to EC4)
  • The general-purpose type supports any resolution through a fixed mask (EC5)
  • ×1/×2/×4/×8 multiplication (switchable via external pins), achieving a maximum resolution of 2400 ppr
  • Outputs phase A, phase B and phase Z signals. Phase B inverted output available
  • Space-saving BGA package / lead-free
